The National Safety Council’s Our Driving Concern (ODC): Texas Employers Safety Program will honor Texas employers though a new awards recognition program. Traffic Safety awards will be presented to Texas businesses that encourage positive driver behaviors among employees on-and-off the job. The goal is to change driver behaviors and decrease traffic crashes and fatalities on-and-off the job. The Our Driving Concern is a program of the National safety Council with program funding through a Texas Department of Transportation. These traffic safety grants assists employers in implementing well-developed policies and comprehensive workplace programs that can help in reducing traffic crashes involving workers in their organization. The benefits gained are numerous.
The workplace is a natural setting for distributing traffic safety messages and discussing driver behaviors. As an employer, you can help employees avoid traffic injuries and deaths, while protecting the bottom line profits of your business. Through the development of company policies, education, and offering incentives, companies can save lives as well as costs associated with traffic crashes on-and-off the job. By increasing traffic safety education in your organization, you demonstrate your concern for the well-being of each employee and their families. The company will help save lives, act as a role model for other companies and be recognized for its efforts.
