“Drive Sober of Get Pulled Over” enforcement mobilization begins August 19

August 10, 2016

main-logoThe 2016 national enforcement mobilization “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” goes into effect across the country from August 19 to September 5, 2016. One of the deadliest and most often committed – yet preventable – of crimes [drunk driving], has become a serious safety epidemic in our country.

The enforcement campaign coincides with the 2016 Labor Day holiday weekend, which is one of the deadliest times of the year in terms of drunk-driving fatalities. With NHTSA’s support, State and local law enforcement agencies across the Nation are stepping up enforcement to put an end to drunk driving, showing zero tolerance in an effort to save lives.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration recently launched a new website to share campaign materials. Infographics, videos and more are available to download and share.
