What is the Texas Impaired Driving Forum?
The Texas Impaired Driving Forum is a 1-day event that is free and open to all audiences. Through presentations, panel sessions, and roundtable discussions attendees will learn about the current challenges associated with impaired driving and what programs are being implemented to reduce and prevent impaired driving in Texas and other states. The Texas Impaired Driving Forum provides the opportunity to foster partnerships with other organizations and stakeholders interested in combatting impaired driving.
Who attends the Texas Impaired Driving Forum?
Forum attendees include advocacy and prevention organizations, law enforcement, prosecution, judicial, probation, screening and treatment, public health, media, and federal, state, and local traffic safety professionals. Whether you’re a professional with 20 years of experience or a concerned citizen looking for more information – you are invited and welcomed to attend. What can I expect if I attend the Texas Impaired Driving Forum?
- Free of Cost. We get it: budgets are tight, and you’re being asked to do more with less. That’s why — through funding and support from the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) — the Texas Impaired Driving Forum has been offered free of cost since its inception. Help us spread the word and invite your colleagues and networks to join us!
- Concurrent Breakout Sessions. Customize your experience at the Forum by attending sessions that are relevant to your background or interest you. And, if choosing between sessions is difficult, all session will be recorded and made available at a later time.
- Impaired Driving Safety Awards. Each year, the Texas Impaired Driving Task Force (TxIDTF) honors individuals and organizations who are going “above and beyond” their job duties to truly impact impaired driving in Texas. Wondering who’s been selected to receive the 2021 Texas Impaired Driving Safety Champion award? Help us recognize and honor these folks when all will be revealed the day of the Forum!
- Networking and Forming New Partnerships. Just because we won’t be meeting in person doesn’t mean the interaction and dialogue with fellow attendees ends. You’ll be able to interact with other attendees in real-time through moderated chat Q&A exchanges.

The Texas Impaired Driving Forum is co-hosted by the Texas A&M Transportation Institute and the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT). The Texas Impaired Driving Forum receives funding and support from TxDOT.

Each year, approximately 250 participants attend the Texas Impaired Driving Forum. The number of attendees continues to grow each year.
