What is the Texas Impaired Driving Forum?
The Texas Impaired Driving Forum is a 1-day event that is free and open to all audiences. Through presentations, panel sessions, and roundtable discussions attendees will learn about the current challenges associated with impaired driving and what programs are being implemented to reduce and prevent impaired driving in Texas and other states. The Texas Impaired Driving Forum provides the opportunity to foster partnerships with other organizations and stakeholders interested in combatting impaired driving.

Forum attendees include advocacy and prevention organizations, law enforcement, prosecution, judicial, probation, screening and treatment, public health, media, and federal, state, and local traffic safety professionals. Whether you’re a professional with 20 years of experience or a concerned citizen looking for more information – you are invited and welcomed to attend. What can I expect if I attend the Texas Impaired Driving Forum?
- Free of Cost. We get it: budgets are tight, and you’re being asked to do more with less. That’s why — through funding and support from the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) — the Texas Impaired Driving Forum has been offered free of cost since its inception. Help us spread the word and invite your colleagues and networks to join us!
- Concurrent Breakout Sessions. Customize your experience at the Forum by attending sessions that are relevant to your background or interests. Session tracks are focused on 3 primary stakeholder groups: law enforcement, prosecution, and prevention.
- Networking and Forming New Partnerships. After 2 years of virtual format, the Forum returned to an in-person event in 2023. We look forward to hosting an in-person event again in 2024. This provides us all an opportunity to catch up with colleagues, form new connections, and foster collaboration.

The Texas Impaired Driving Forum is co-hosted by the Texas A&M Transportation Institute and the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT). The Texas Impaired Driving Forum receives funding and support from TxDOT.
How many people attend the Texas Impaired Driving Forum?
Each year, approximately 300 participants attend the Texas Impaired Driving Forum. The number of attendees continues to grow each year.
